In a sense, at least. Getting old makes the running part relative. But yeah, I was all over town today. Started with school, where I left a bag of religious-themed book for our rel.ed. teacher, in the hope she could put them to good use. If yes, I'll hand her over more. My interest in feministic theology had died down decades ago.

I also left the boxes and the money for the colleague who orders the eggs from a farmer with a chicken farm. Tomorrow, when I go to choir practice, I can fetch my eggsies.

I then rode the metro (=underground railway) to the other side of the city, which means crossing the Danube under the river bed. It always makes me anxious, but that's the fastest way, so I clench my teeth and compromise. I hit my favourite craft shop and bought felt, tiny little bows and an acrylic pen, none of which I really needed, but I didn't want to leave with empty hands. Yeah, I know. Stupid is as stupid does. But at least I got inspiration what to use the tiny Santa hats for that I had bought at Tedi last week, also because I just couldn't resist.

On my way home (this time I took the bus, which was a bad decision as traffic was a killer) I dropped in to Lidl and did some more grocery sopping. Spending money is something I find comforting. *g*

Not much else was done today; I was completely floored by the time I got home - not surprising, as we had 31°C today again. We ate leftovers, watched telly, and then I slept a bit. And that was basically it.

The other inspiration of the day was that I finally figured out how I wanted to celebrate my upcoming birthday with Mum. We're going to call a cab and visit the Stühmer Café that used to be one of our favourite places. We can't go there by tram anymore, but I can stuff Mum into a cab, and the café is situated so that the cab can basically stop right at the entrance. I will invite my friend and retired colleague Ilonka, who lives in the house next to the café, and we could have a nice outing together - or so I hope.

Great idea for your Mum’s birthday.
I hope the tunnel under the Danube journey is quick! I don’t like travelling underground, fortunately only a tiny portion of the rail system is underground. I just grit my teeth. I don’t think I was a dwarf in my past life!

Errr... it will be my birthday, actually, Mum's is in January. Sorry my post was confusing.

The under-Danube journey only takes minutes. I usually don't mind the underground, but the mere thought of all that water above my head... brrrr!

The cafe trip sounds great, and I bet Mum will look forward to that a lot too. I try not to think about going under the river when I use the tube in London, and I think I would have to be sedated to use the Channel Tunnel.

Yeah, same here. Plus, knowing that the underground trains are fully automated, no living person steering them, makes me uncomfortable.
