Still tinkering with my front pages
Aug. 13th, 2025 06:24 pmActually, they ought to have been finished three times over. But I always get some creative idea that adds several new details to the original design. It just doesn't seem to have an end.
Today I got the idea of making the front door so that it could be opened and closed with the help of a press button. So I needed something that would be behind the door because just having the house wall wouldn't make much sense, now would it? Thus the staircase was born, complete with "stone paving", a suitably dark background, a fling of stairs and a flower-shaped sequin that serves as the ceiling lamp. Yes, I'm insane, I know.
Other than that, I've finally finished stitching on the boughs for the last bush and got another idea for a nice row of curb stones trimming the house, and I might actually add flower-shaped buttons to the windows and small red pearls to the boughs, so that they'd look better. I'm still procrastinating about a way to make smoke coming from the chimney (mind you, the house doesn't even have a chimney yet), but not all the time. This is supposed to be an interactive book, so I'd like to make it possible to pull the smoke in and out at will. Yes, I think we've already cleared that I'm insane. *g*
In other news, we had 34°C today - still have it, in fact - so we minimized any strenuous activities. I boiled some potatoes for lunch because Mum had some tummy problems (enjoyed her babka too much yesterday), and I took out the rubbish. Otherwise we've watched some telly and rested.
