... what parameters LJ uses to hand out their so-called achievements. Why it is that I've barely put up the daily post to [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo and it promptly becomes one of the 25 most popular posts. Or why someone who hasn't posted to their journal for years suddenly are "promoted" to community leader. Among other things. Are they just pull the usernames out of a hat or whatnot?

Not that this would be really important, mind you. I just wanted to post about something else than my daily life. *g*

Anyway, today was quiet. I put away some stuff that had been lying around for weeks, I did a bit of work on dollhouse quiet book #1, even a bit of writing. Mum had a visit from the physiotherapist lady, I had two nice, long phone calls from friends. There was no need to cook as we had leftovers. So yeah, it was a nice day.

LJ keeps sending "achievements" to people who haven't been on here in years, including one person whom I happen to know is dead.

That is a strong possibility, yes.

It's the typical social media marketing, trying to throw dopamine at people and get them hooked.

I often get the "you posted yesterday, write another post today to keep your streak!" and I'm thinking shut up, I've been on here for 25 years, I know what I'm doing.

I get that particular message every single day.

I have no idea, I get that message every so often for the posts I sometimes put up on [livejournal.com profile] positivismnow which are just memes or jokes.

I'm glad you had a nice day :)

Maybe there“s a lottery for achievements going on?

Probably. I wish they'd give out professional accounts to those of us who've been here for decades instead; since they made it impossible to pay for it.

I thought I was the only one hit with that, "Your post is on the 25 most popular posts" list. I assumed it was a glitch, as I cannot imagine thousands of people interested in my posts about weather and dressmaking.
