We didn't get any of those. I don't really mind; our balcony doesn't like heavy rain - or likes it too much. So much that it allows the rainwater to come in, whenever it hits a certain angle. But no rain here; not yet, at least. We just got the humidity. My weather app insists that we have 23°C, but we're sweating like pigs (more than we had when it was 36 degrees), and it's hard to breathe.

In this pleasant weather, I started to day with taking down the washing. Then Mum had her first shower since her latest fall, finally braving the task of climbing into the bathtub. Well, walking into it would be more accurate - if the tub weren't so shallow. So she still has to overcome a 30 cm high obstacle. Hence the delay; she wasn't stable enough on her feet until now.

After that, I went on cleaning the balcony, since everything was already prepared. Meaning, I had emptied the balcony, loading everything into my study/craft room (basically, we still call it Granny's room, but nobody else would understand what I'm referring to with that). And if I say everything, I mean it. Only the long bench, filled with old books and other heavy stuff, and the solid wooden cupboard, filled with heavy ceramic dishes, remained. Granny's room was full with smaller pieces of furniture, six-packs of mineral water and soft drinks and only God knows what else. (Well, actually, I know it, too, but they are too insignificant to list here.)

The cleaning itself wasn't too bad. Vacuum the carpets, roll them up, put them into Granny's room (where else?), mop the floor and let it dry. The true ordeal started when the floor had dried: put the carpets back on and carry everything outside again. It took me all morning. Especially as - since I had the vacuum cleaner and the mop at hand already - I quickly went through the anteroom as an afterthought, too.

That having done, we had breakfast (at 11am, as usual), then I made the salad and the sandwiches for lunch, we watched a tiny bit of telly, but I couldn't even pay any attention to "The Incredible Dr. Pol", despite the cute animals he treats. So I gave up, went into my room and slept for two solid hours. We had lunch around 3pm, as usual, tried to watch "Salvage Hunters" during it; of course, one of Mum's lady friends chose that particular moment to call us. She has a sixth sense when we ate (it varies a bit from day to day), and always calls in the middle of it. *g*

I tried to rest a bit more afterwards, watching a few of those brainless YouTube vids about wronged people paying it back their evil family (as I said before, the video version of the Harlequin romance novels from the 1970s), but my eyes didn't like watching them on the iPad. They are old and require nice, large viewscreens. Ah, well.

Tomorrow I'll go back to Tedi and stock up on various crafty supplies, as they've got a 30% price reduction on everything until July 31. Wish me luck to find the things I really need.

The humidity always makes things worse.
I should check if our Tedi has discounts as well ...

Oh, so you, too, want to buy all kinds of things, just because they are pretty and sold for a lower price? I can understand that. *g*

Yeah, it eats the time I'd prefer to spend writing or crafting. But it can't be helped. *sigh*

Congratulations on getting the balcony plus the carpet cleaned. You earned that rest. The temps are lovely here but it's clouding over now, so we may get rain. As I did laundry the other day, I have windows and doors open to try and reduce the humidity in the house. Here's hoping it makes a difference before the rain falls.

One has to realize that beyond a certain point there's no use to press on. Especially at our age.

I hope you get your laundry dried before the rain falls indeed. In our flat, all windows are on the same side, and the only door opens to a closed corridor, so I can't even get the air moved. :(
