In other words: I did half of the monthly cleaning today. Bath, loo, kitchen, anteroom - all before 11am. All while it was only 23°C. Now it is 32 - quite the difference, I'd say.

Afterwards I did a bit of writing and rested. Ten I made lunch that will last for at least another two days. Which is a good thing, as tomorrow I'll have to do the grocery shopping, and the day after I'll have to take Mum to her medical appointment. Neither of which would leave me with enough time and/or energy to do any cooking.

The afternoon was as it always is when the heat descends upon us: windows closed, blinds down, we silently vegetating in the darkened rooms. God, I really hate high summer!

Oh, and I forgot to mention before: our neat little sewing supplies shop has closed for good. I'm very sad about it.

It is a real shame. It was small but well-stocked and easy to reach. :(

Oh no. I hate housework. It’s such a shame that finding a reliable cleaner had become such an ordeal.
And yes, summer is beyond enduring. I hate summer so much. And it seems to get longer every year.

That's the global warming so many politicians say doesn't exist.

We have just two sources of sewing supplies in my little town, and both are just for the very basics. I am forced to go to Amazon for most things.

Alas, I still haven't mastered the craft of online shopping.

So the sewing shop has shared the fate of its brethren. I can count on the fingers of one hand the people who will make use of such a shop. One is male and young, the four others 60 plus.

Never seen a young male knitting and sewing? This one does!
