My world class strawberries have arrived today. Take a look and prepare to be envious:

That about took care of supper; we might have sampled a bit too many of them. Fortunately, we won't go to bed before midnight (or way after, in my case), so hopefully they'll settle by then.

I've sewn on all 36 remaining buttons, prepared the thread bundles that will go into the little sewing kits, hunted down the mini security pins and the press buttons. All I need to do is to decorate the plastic jars themselves, and then they're good to go.

Mum and I started our monstre kitchen project. We didn't finish it, but that was to be expected. Mum insisted on helping, which slowed down the project considerably. But I hope I'll be able to do the rest tomorrow.

Now, I can't understand why Pinterest keeps "elevating" the site. It worked just fine before they would re-haul it; now it's beyond annoying. The individual sections within a board aren't properly separated, and their titles have become invisible. Now, it's well possible that the site no longer likes my outdated browser, but that fact doesn't help me one bit.

So, this was basically our day. Tomorrow I'll have to cook something again; considering how ripe the strawberries are, I might have to make a strawberry cheesecake or a trifle or whatnot. We'll see.

Oh my, those berries look divine. Berries are one of the fruits I am permitted to eat, so I frequently indulge, but my last strawberries didn’t look nearly so ripe and juicy.

We have a very good source at school; someone knows a farmer and we've been ordering from him for at least a decade. His strawberries are always ripe and juicy — and fairly huge.

With your talk of strawberries the other day I tried looking for some in my local supermarket yesterday. Sadly, all the ones I could find were from Morocco or Spain...huge things with white tops. Needless to say, I bought bananas. :D

That is the problem with artificially ripened food: it's hard and tasteless.

Is it so much warmer in Hungary? Because here we are far from having local strawberries!

I don't know how the man tends to them, but they are actually ripe and sweet.

They are fantastic! Kate, the colleague who helped me to get them mentioned that her family gets "strawberry poisoning" each year; they gorge themselves in them.

Those do look delicious! I got some fresh ones yesterday but they are not as good as those.
