Not me, of course - my journal. Still, quite the achievement, don't you think?
So, here it is to my blog:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Otherwise, I had kitchen duty today: I cooked for another two days in advance, which means I won't have to do so in the weekend. Unless I make those Topfenknödel on Sunday, after all, and leave the third part of the Schinken-Nudelauflauf for Monday, when we're going to have our cleaning frenzy. Not having to cook after that would be a blessing.
I managed to finish another two pincushions during the ad breaks of Richterin Barbara Salesch. Eight more to go, then I can start the next phase of the little sewing kits. Yay!
In the afternoon I talked to my friend Elise on the phone. My Easter biscuits were apparently a great success with her five grandchildren. She also promised me cherry pits, in case her cherry trees would deign to produce fruit this year. When they do, I can make some more cherry pit cushions for the Christmas fair, which would be cool.
What isn't cool is the fact that the balcony leaked again last night. Not much, but it leaked. It's so frustrating! Mum plans to call the janitor tomorrow. *sigh* BTW, we also went for a little walk in the afternoon. Just for a little one, as her bad knee was acting up, but at least she had a bit of fresh air and sunshine.

The feral cat that I took in is now officially mine. He went to the vet recently and was microchipped and vaccinated for all feline diseases. The vet says he is a neutered male about 2 years old. We thought such, but were not exactly sure. Unfortunately, he has a disease similar to Human AIDs but specific to cats. So, I will have to keep him indoors and take him to the vet ASAP at any sign of ill health. I also have to keep him away from other cats as he could be infectious. Poor kitty, but he now has a safe place to stay and plenty of food to eat. He spends most of his day in bed — Mine! I never realized how much cats sleep! I've named him Minou, not very original, but as I did not know until recently whether he was a he or she, somewhat fitting. He helps liven up the same old, same old days and does not complain too much, just a few meows here and there to let me know he is hungry.

Date: 2025-04-26 04:13 pm (UTC)Your balcony reminds me of a former student´s one: the problem was with the ones one storey above her, where rain found a way inside and went straight down, to come out of her wall. I´d go mad with such a balcony!
