And I don't just mean grocery shopping, although I did pay Lidl a visit in the morning, since bananas were considerably reduced in price, assuming one had a Lidl Plus app on one's phone. Which was one of the reasons I had bought my way too smart phone in the first place. And since I was already there, I did the whole grocery shopping #2. (I usually do it twice a week.)

But no, the real shopping spree was done at Kik. Remember the nice summer dress I bought two weeks ago? Well, I got a bonus coupon at the time; one that secured me -30% this week, assuming I bought three or more items. So I went back today and bought another dress, two lightweight summer trousers, three lovely candles that I'm going to decorate with wax plates (eventually) and two 200 ml bottles of metallic paint that I'll use for the Easter baskets/eggs next week. All this reduced in price by 30%, thanks to my bonus coupon!

Of course, the money I saved this way will be spent at the seamstress's, as clothes designers firmly believe that people who are of more... errr... rotund build have also legs 20 cm longer than others. So I must have both the trousers and the dresses made shorter in order to be able to wear them; meaning that I didn't actually save money by buying them, but it doesn't matter. It's so rare that I find nice clothes in my size that even look reasonably good on me, I had to use the opportunity.

Not much else happened. Mum volunteered to cook, and so we had potato casserole with hard-boiled eggs, this being a Lent Friday. We watched some telly and slept an hour in the afternoon. I was simply too drained to do anything useful, and Mum was tired from the cooking. Ah, well, tomorrow is another day.

For all that it isn't a clothes shop per se, Kik is the only chain selling XL and above sized clothes on a regular basis. I discovered one of their shops in Vienna decades ago (literally), and was so glad when they showed up in Hungary as well!

I bought six cotton t-shirt dresses this summer (in the same colour too) because it is so difficult to find non-synthetic clothes that don’t look too awful and are comfortable. I bought one and it was so successful I bought more immediately!

I did the same with shoes once — three pairs in three different colours of the same, even though they were hair-raisingly expensive. But that was twenty years ago and I still wear those shoes; besides, I only have these two (bad) legs. Never since have I found shoes that would fit so well.

We need to clothes shop in each other's countries. Here dresses etc. in my size seem to be designed for people 5.6, not my 5.9.

I must point out that these clothes are of German design (Kik is a German chain). Despite the fact that this country is full of oversized people, the designers only make S and M sized clothes.

Same problem with the trousers here, too!

Well, at least Kik has clothes I can put on to begin with. Even though they have to be cut shorter. No other shop does keep oversized clothing regularly.

How nice that you were able to find more clothes in your size. I can definitely relate. If I find a dress that fits, I buy as many of that style as I can in as many different colors as offered, as I may not find anything else that fits for a long time. I am sure folks think I am odd, wearing mostly the same thing all the time, but they don't make clothes for oddly shaped old ladies.
