The new cleaning lady seems to be nice; but again, so did the previous one, so I'm only cautiously optimistic. She does work well and diligently, so that's a plus; if only she keeps showing up.

Half the day got eaten by the cleaning and the putting things back in their places, and in the afternoon we were both dead on our feet. Fortunately, I didn't have to cook - made shepherd's pie yesterday, so we're provided with warm food for tomorrow as well. Which is a good thing, as tomorrow I'll have to do the grocery shopping, the physiotherapist lady is coming and I've got choir practice as well.

Not much else got done today, but I didn't expect it, so that's okay. Wrote a single sentence, just to prove that I was writing, and made another simple egg basket. I'll have to start painting the eggs and the already finished baskets, soon. Easter will be here sooner than I'm actually prepared for.

I'm glad the first visit went well and am crossing my fingers for future ones. At least you don't expect the cleaner to do everything. I imagine most folk just sit back and expect them to do it all.

That wouldn't work in our flat. Even I have a hard time to get the things back to where they belong — I can't expect it from a stranger. Besides, what I can do I'm willing to do. But ladders and hoovering are really hard on me; and mopping the PVC floors. My back problems are not as severe as your by far, but those particular movements incapacitate me for days afterwards.

Being able to eat leftovers is a blessing. I will have to adjust the quantity of the meals once again, since daughter is here more regularly at the moment.

Leftovers can be life-savers on busy days.

Oh I am glad she at least turned up — and did a good job. Now to hope she keeps coming.

And that she's indeed an honest person. Letting a stranger into your home is always a risk.

Cautiously optimistic:) Well, considering the record of the recent cleaners, that's a good start for the new one. I hope it works out.

Your new cleaner sounds promising, hope it goes as well in the future. Lately, I have been watching cleaning videos to motivate me to clean house. It is such a thankless job — sigh.
