And it doesn't get any more pleasant with the passing of weeks. On the contrary. Still, needs must.

Well, cleaning ate the entire morning. At least I didn't have to cook. Nothing more than a quick cauliflower soup, that is. (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] noadvertising!) After lunch, we went for another walk with Mum, then I managed a medium-sized nap. The insurance lady resurfaced today; the working (?) theory is that she'll show up on Wednesday. I'll believe when I see it.

Me-time was accordingly short. I did a tiny bit of writing, and I gave the fabric-covered eggs a try, only to realize that it won't work the way I hoped it would. So I'll most likely use acrylic paint instead. I've got half a dozen little jars in various colours that need to be used up anyway.

I found a lovely (and blessedly simple) idea of making egg baskets of toilet rolls that I'm planning to give a try. Those will have to be painted, too, so that will be hitting two birds with the same stone. I'm planning to make enough of them (and the styrofoam eggs) to give them my fellow choir members as Easter gifts.

So, that was about today. I've worked hard, so I'll have to bake something tomorrow as a consolation price. I'm thinking of a date and walnut bread, assuming I find the recipe.

Covering your eggs in scraps of tissue paper and acrylic glue can be a fun look, if you don't mind getting messy.

Getting messy is not the problem — the lack of a proper working surface is. Unless I use the folding table in the kitchen — which then would fill the entire kitchen — I can't do crafts that require lots of place.

I should have done the same, but blessedly we were off today!
