New week, new annoyances
Mar. 3rd, 2025 10:15 pmJust small ones, fortunately, but even those can get under one's skin. So, let's make a list.
1) When I switched from my monthly mobile phone subscription to a Domino card, I also cancelled the transfer order at the bank. Turns out, it was too early. Telekom sent me a fragment bill of 645,- HUF (the equivalent of 1.5 Euros). So I went to their customer service (getting them via phone is all but hopeless, especially since they installed that AI). The nice young lady told me that I can simply go to the post office next to them, tell the clerk my phone number and can pay without further ado. So far, so good.
2) What she didn't tell me (she most likely found it unnecessary, as the post office was at the next corner) is the fact that you can't do this in any post office, just in certain ones. So, since I didn't want to go to the one next corner (it is abysmally slow and there are always hordes of people), I tried my luck at our small and efficient post office in the Savoy Park shopping centre, where I had to go anyway. Well - that post office isn't entitled to take phone bills. How wonderful - NOT!
3) The insurance lady was supposed to call today to make a new appointment. Guess who didn't call? You have three guesses and the first two don't count. So I called her, and she's apparently going through some course this week, but will call me on Friday again to make an appointment for next week. This is really getting ridiculous! I know she'll show up eventually, she always does, but I'd really like to put this thing behind me.
At least I got into the Lindt shop and bought the biggest gold bunny I could find, plus two absolutely tiny ones. Big bunny is still not big enough, so I decided that if I find the really big one at Müller's (last year they did have it while the Lindt shop did not), I'll buy it, no matter what. It will most likely cost more than a day trip to Vienna, but since I haven't been able to make a day trip to Vienna, for at least five years, I decided that I've deserved it as a consolation prize.
Behold the most amazing Lindt exhibition I've ever seen, in 2017 in Vienna. God, I miss that city! And I miss Graz and St. Pölten and Linz and Krems! And there are so many other places in Austria I'd like to visit... *sigh*
Anyway, I've also finished lavender sachet #12, did a tiny bit of writing and transcribing, considered future craft projects, bought some (modest) craft supplies and had a videochat with H. and Little Emma via Viber. So, it was a busy, busy day again, with a meagre 20-minuet nap in the afternoon.

Date: 2025-03-03 10:45 pm (UTC)That Lindt exhibition!! Everything looks so amazing, and delicious
Sorry you had such a frustrating day. Especially the Telekom stuff is so annoying, what a hassle over several days just to pay the price of a bar of chocolate. But when is Telekom not annoying, they have turned making it a torture to deal with them into an art form. (meanwhile, their business customer support is so much better, at least in recent years, and that is frustrating in itself. they clearly know how to do good phone support, they just don't give a damn about private households)

Date: 2025-03-04 08:30 pm (UTC)I usually just phone to everyone. H. is the only one on Viber; I'd prefer to see her and the little ones in person, but at the moment it's not doable, and Mum is happy to have at least this much.
