... because tomorrow there will be cleaning, and that's bad enough for one day. I made Topfenknödel for today and two days' worth of Mary Berry's Chicken Panang stir-fry with rice and zucchinis and tomatoes. It's a bit different from the original recipe that uses paprika and celery to the zucchinis, but I have to use veggies that we like and that Mum can eat. I love these kind of dishes where everything goes into a large frying pan (well, rice has to be cooked and the meat has to be pre-fried a bit, but still) and is ready in 20 minutes. I also made carrot soup - not the one I learned from [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat because the stir-fry already had ginger in it, but this version is good, too.

All that cooking ate the whole morning, but I still finished two more lavender sachets in the early afternoon and glued on a felt appliqué to a third one; the only one that's already filled, or else I'd have sewn on the appliqué. But I refused to undo the whole sachet just because I got an idea concerning decoration.

The rest of the afternoon was a bit chaotic, with doing a short walk within the building with Mum (since it's still raining), multiple phone calls (none for me, but I had to answer them) and some telly watching. I also called H. (so much for family connections) and had a nap. And now I'm trying to type up the rewritten pages for Chapter 2. That counts as writing, right?

Sure, here you are:

It is really super easy, doesn't take much time and you can replace ingredients you don't like with others.

I recently purchased a rice cooker. It makes the whole process less messy, and removes the issue of over cooking. That said, I had to experiment with amounts, because I like my rice on the soft side. Now I throw it all in the cooker, push a button, and walk away. Ten minutes later I have perfect rice.

I wish my kitchen would have enough work surface for such cool little gadgets. The very first item in my kitchen-related wish-list would be a food processor.

Haha, I sent hubby to the grocery store for buying carrots. That has been on Monday. Now guess what´s still missing! Hubby does not like carrot soup, while I do. With lots of ginger and coconut milk!

Our carrot soup is much simpler. Just Suppenwürfel, grated carrots, parsley and some lemon juice. I like [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat's recipe with the ginger, but Mum prefers the simpler version; and neither of us likes the taste of coconut very much.

Your meal sounds delicious! I love carrot soup, have not had any in awhile and it really is not hard to make. Unfortunately, I am the only one in my family who loves it.
