Today I've baked my last cookies: Iranian cookies, with date and pistachio filling, respectively. And ginger hearts - those will be decorated tomorrow. I've decided to finish the Christmas baking. I'm tired and no longer enjoy doing it, so it's time to stop.

I've also finished Christmas card #38. I'm trying to make one more until the fair; it's started already and not too complicated. But with that, I'll also end the fair preparations. It has been fun, but it's enough.

I've cooked for two days in advance, so that I can go to the nearby shopping centre tomorrow and deal with a few long overdue tasks. And now I'm very tired.

No wonder you're tired. I think you've definitely done enough.

The Iranian cookies do sound delicious though...

They are delicious indeed, although the dough is a torture to work with. But it results in a very crumbly biscuit, which elderly people (like Mum) can eat without having to cut them to pieces, so it was worth the pain. And I absolutely love pistachios anyway.

I think you've made enough biscuits already, you deserve a rest!

I regret that I didn't have the energy for the last three batches, but it makes no sense to continue when one no longer enjoys it.

Good for you! Knowing when to stop is a good thing. I sometimes forget that I'm not in my thirties any more.

I don't remember having been so tired so early before Christmas, ever. I agree that stopping was probably life-saving.

I wish I had your persistency with baking- I gave up after five sorts!

We also had a great many things that frayed my nerves lately, so my readiness to give up wasn't caused by exhaustion alone.
