Advent 2024 - Day 7

The best laid plans of mice and men and all that...

Today was supposed to be my lazy day. I wanted to do a bit of crafting, a bit of writing, a bit of lazing around in front of the telly and over my crossword puzzle. Instead, I did the following things:

- helped Mum with her weekly shower (a rather indecent thing to do, as I have to strip down to my undies; it usually involved me to get wet from head to toe),

- we had laundry day,

- while watching "The Repair Shop", the industrial alpinist guys arrived to (hopefully) fix the balcony for good (we'll see...),

- I've finished Christmas Card #37 (pic coming up when there will be enough light to take a decent photo),

- I made a late lunch (that basically consisted of leftover soup and Rösti) and dismantled the pink grapefruit that has been waiting for its death in the fridge for days,

- I've ground the pistachios and grated the date paste for tomorrow's baking session (still have to chop the candied ginger and measure out the main ingredients, but the night is long).

There was a short nap, some minor writing and a crossword puzzle or two in-between, but honestly, this wasn't how I had originally imagined a "lazy" day. Things have just crept up from all directions and demanded to be dealt with. *sigh*

Oh, I do hope the guy manages to finally find the problem and fix your balcony. It will be such a load off your mind.
