So much about my lazy day

... which wasn't so lazy, after all. Granted, I grossly overslept (not intentionally, just because I was too exhausted), which meant a 45-minute loss of me-time, because Mum duty and cooking had to be done, no matter what.
The rest of the day was spent with small things I'd been planning to do for at least a week but never got around to do them. So, I've finished Christmas Card 37 - the middle part is actually a lovely pale green and the baubles are dusted with silver and bronze glitter, respectively, all of which my smart(???) phone refused to bring forth on the picture - made two more cat-in-the-sack gift boxes, started the body of little angel #5 and even worked a bit on the snowman with a box. It's going to be very different from the YouTube original but so far I am content with it. If I'll manage to put the parts together so that it will actually look like a snowman is another matter; we'll see.
I've also mended the frayed button holes on Mum's knitted waistcoat, cooked lunch, measured all the ingredients for tomorrow's baking and did a bit of writing, too. After all this I really needed a nap, which I took in the late afternoon, and now the day is almost over again. Seesh!
Tomorrow I'll bake three different batches of cookies again. I'm not sure I'll manage to do everything on my list, as I still have lots of crafting to do, but if I don't, that won't be a tragedy, either. I'll keep baking as long as I enjoy it, and then I'll stop. Life is too short and too busy to put unnecessary pressure on myself.

Date: 2024-12-04 03:50 am (UTC)Sorry you did not get as much rest as expected. These past two months have flown by. Can't believe Christmas is so close. I have done nothing in preparation. Dear husband is getting released from the rehab hospital on the 10th. They say it is because he has improved a bit, but in truth, the insurance money has run out. Unfortunately, he is not back physically to where he was before the operation and is now totally wheelchair bound. We'll see what will happen in the future. They do plan to continue out patient rehab — sigh.
