The accomplishments of the day

#1 - I have survived the cleaning frenzy. And we were even finished around 10am. 'Nuff said! *is proud*

#2 - The 4th little angel is finished, and I'm very happy with the outcome.

I have some leftover pale purple tulle for a fifth one; after that, I'll stop.

#3 - I've made cheesy scones (Pogatschen auf Ungarisch) for tomorrow's choir party. They are dangerously yummy, so I made half a batch exclusively for family consummation. Mum very much appreciated the gesture.

#4 - I've cooked the cauliflower for tomorrow, when I won't have much time for cooking, so I only have to re-heat it, pour bechamel sauce on it and sprinkle it with grated cheese.

#5 - I've organized a lift for myself for tomorrow; my friend Eenie will pick me and all my baked goodies up and take me to the big jubilee concert/after concert party. Aside from the scones I'll also take date flapjacks and marshmallow-pecan cookies for my fellow singers, so it's a real blessing that I won't have to use the bus and/or the tram, with changing vehicles half-way. Especially as it has snowed last night and the streets will most likely be iced over.

So, I call this a very successful day!

Well, it's mostly gone by now and good riddance. I find that I don't enjoy snow as much as I used in my half-forgotten youth; unless I don't have to leave the house as long as it's there.

Thank goodness for a lift. Navigating icy streets, when you don't have a free arm for balance, is no joke. I shall not be leaving the house until the weather here starts to behave itself again. Somebody needs to give it a good talking to!

Funnily enough, while it was still lightly snowing in the morning, the weather cleared up shortly thereafter, and the wind even dried the roads! I was still glad I got that lift from Eenie, as the bag with the cookies and the hard folder with the music notes were very unhandy to navigate with.
