... was done this morning - and I still don't have everything I need! Partly my fault, as I failed to check if I had the required amount of coconut flakes (I do not), partly Auchan's fault as they didn't have either orange blossom water (they always have it when I don't need it!) or pistachio spread. As for the latter, the price label was still on the shelf, so there's reasonable hope that the actual item will show up eventually. I do have an opened bottle/jar of both, but I prefer to have one of each in reserve, just in case.

But I did get some more edible glitter for my future Christmas biscuits to decorate, another package of date paste (which was unnecessary but I forgot to check the required amount in advance - fortunately, they can be used any time in the next four months or so) and a jar of nougat spread. So, things are slowly taking up shape, which is good, as I'll have to start with the Christmas baking in two weeks' time or so.

That took care of my morning (okay, I also had to go to the post office), but at least I didn't have to cook today. A bit of writing happened, but absolutely no crafting. I wanted to take another nice, long nap in the afternoon but get hooked on YouTube, and that was that.

I also called my friend Eenie on the phone. It was a very short discussion, though, as she and hubby were in Spain, visiting their daughter who's there for a year with Erasmus or whatnot, and long-distance calls are effing expensive. I hope they are having a good time. Language problems they aren't going to have, as her hubby is a Spaniard and she'd spent years in Nicaragua in her youth, where her father worked at that time.

You might be amused- but at this time of the year you will get baking ingredients mostly at the high-priced shops, especially the fancier things! There are lots of offers at Lidl and Hofer, but to get them you have to be an early shopper!

I wouldn't mind paying higher prices if only we did have shops specialized for baking ingredients; alas, we don't have them. Or if they exist, they are so well hidden that I've never seen one.

Well, I definitely want to try my hand on those Iranische Dattelkekse — a simplified version of the Ma'amoul or whatever way they are spelled. I've found some ginger cookies I never made before, either, and then quite a few old favourites. I'll post here the finished list shortly.

I truly envy your talent, I would not know where to begin. Half the ingredients you speak of, I've never heard about — such as Orange blossom water and edible glitter, lol. They sell already made cookie dough here that you drop on a cookie sheet and bake. That is the extent of my baking.

Well, it isn't everybody's coup of espresso. But there are really, really easy recipes that even a beginner can manage. Cookies with only 5 ingredients and the likes — and the results are great nonetheless. YouTube is full of them.

I am gathering up ingredients for Christmas baking too. Your ingredients sound a lot more exciting than mine :)

You know, they actually are — probably because they are the only events in my life. They and the choir practice.
