My last day as a 67-year-old
Oct. 8th, 2024 08:43 pm...was fully packed again.
In the morning I finally finished Christmas Card #30. Behold my little angel of the mismatched eyes and crooked mouth:

I've made several mistakes with the swirls but am fairly content with the outcome nonetheless. She's cute, I think.
After that, I did some writing and rearranged the EMV series again (in my head, at least). I might not group the individual shorter stories in blocks, after all, but just write them one at a time. Knowing myself, though, this certainly won't be the last word in this topic. *g*
In the early afternoon the janitor phoned that the industrial alpinist guy had just finished work in another big building and could come over to do the insulation work on the infamous balcony if we wanted. OF COURSE we wanted! He wa a friendly young man and did what seemed to be a thorough job. We'll see what happens when the next heavy rain comes, but if the balcony still leaks they'll come again and fix it some more, or so he said. *fingers crossed*
Barely had he left, the physiotherapist lady came. She just finished working with Mum when I had to leave for choir practice, too. I took all the leftover amarettis and pistachio cookies with me because we couldn't even look at them anymore, not to mention eat them. But my choirmates enjoyed the treat very much.
And now the day is over again and I'm dead on my feet. Next time you see me I'll be a year older - isn't that odd? I don't feel older... except in the morning when I get up, regardless if I had slept five hours or fifteen. Not that the latter would happen frequently.
