Party report

Originally, I invited nine people. Three have cancelled in advance, one said it was unlikely that she could come, and one didn't give any feedback at all. So we were seven people, including Mum, myself and a four-year-old... and we had a great time.

Party food:



FYI, from the left to the right: savoury scones, amaretti, baci de dama (below the amaretti), coconut crescents, pistachio biscuits (below them) and cheesy crakers, made of leftover puff pastry.

My spanakopita and the two versions of pizza were yummy, too, but their looks not worth a picture. I made gift packages for my guests when they left, but even so, we'll have food for two days to come, I think.

Nothing else was done; I was too drained. But such an event isn't on every other day, so it's okay.

It was such a relief! I'd been nervous like a monkey all week; it had happened to me once in the past that not a single one of my invited guests showed up, so I'm a bit of a burned child in that area.

TBH, the Italian cookies are all a bit too sweet for my taste, so I'm not sure I'll make them again. But the guests enjoyed them, and that's what counts, right?

Well, yes, one of them went down with a really bad cold, another one has a newly born granddaughter and the third one had the workmen coming to her house. But yeah, their loss.
