Not much anyway. At least I decided to sleep a little longer today than originally planned. That means getting up at 8am instead of 6:50. Grocery shopping could wait. Of course, when I got from Aldi to Lidl and reached the cash desk in the latter, I discovered that the mincemeat I snagged from the shelf wasn't the mincemeat for the reduced price, for which I went to the shop in the first place. So yeah, rinse and repeat tomorrow before choir practice. Joy, joy, joy. Perhaps I ought to take a magnifying glass with me to find the right package of meat.

In any case, food shopping took care for the morning. Coming home I've finished one more lavender sachet - I'm up to seven now, three more to go. These late ones don't look as well as the first batch, I must have measured the bases wrongly, but I really can't be arsed to remove the lace and the appliqués and redo the whole thing. I'll offer them for a reduced price on the fair.

There wasn't need for cooking as I brought Flammkuchen from Aldi, which we both love. With leftover soup, leftover salad and the last rests of coffee-flavoured ice cream, it was a nice enough lunch.

After having a short rest, I started making preparations for the last leg of the current cleaning madness. I've more or less emptied the balcony; there are only a few things I'll have to move tomorrow, in order to reach the dirt in the corners. The anteroom is even easier, just vacuuming the horrid carpet and wiping the PVC floor. I hope I'll be done in two hours, tops. *fingers crossed*

Around 18:30 I suddenly realized that I'll have to process the mushrooms I had bought or else they would wilt in the fridge. They always do. So I did just that: peeled them, chopped them, fried them in oil with a bit of onions, salt, pepper, nutmeg and parsley. Mum was very impressed with the outcome. When they cooled down completely, I put them into a plastic box and into the freezer. They'll come out on Saturday again, to grace my little puff pastry tartlets. Well, half of those. The other half will get tuna filling.

No writing was done today, obviously. Not enough quiet time to get my brain in gear. Perhaps a short break won't do any harm, while I type up the finished story. I've tried to figure out the missing parts between this one and the first block last night, but didn't come too far. Yeah, let's take a break.

Never ever have I peeled a mushroom. On the contrary- hubby insists that I only use a brush to get the soil off. But DiL does peel all mushrooms!

That is how I learned from Grandma, but basically everyone does it in Hungary.

Hmmm ... Flammkuchen. I love the one from Wagner, I'll have to see if I can get some soon.

Pulling off the outer layer, basically, since you can’t wash them as they absorb water like a sponge.

Wow, what a day. The mushroom tarts sound like they will be delicious. I've always loved mushrooms. Had some today in fact.

I like them, too. I'll post a pic of the entire spread on Saturday.
