Today I made Shepherd's Pie and savoury scones; partly because those are food items Mum likes very much and even can eat with the couple of teeth she has left and partly because I wanted to warm up the flat a little by having the oven running for twice an hour or so.

Well, the last part was a success. The first one... not so much. Mum must have eaten something that didn't agree with her because she had an upset stomach all day and lived on toast and grated apples. I was so terribly disappointed, having planned a nice Sunday lunch and all that, and we haven't even tasted the main dish.

Of course, the plus side is that this way I won't have to cook in the next two days, which is always a blessing. Especially as I'll have to turn the third round at Teh Office, trying to have Mum's medicine cost supply redirected. I wonder if I'm gonna succeed this time.

Other than that, we had a quiet day again. It had been raining during the night and in the afternoon, and the balcony folded briefly, but it wasn't too bad, so I'm not complaining (much). I've set the embroidered card aside, not having the nerves to figure out how the pine tree branch might actually work, and made another little tree gnome instead, as well as sewing together the little shirts of the last three ones. I've also worked a bit on the (hopefully) last chapter of my current fic and typed up a few pages of the previous one. All in all, accomplished a great deal.

She already does. Thankfully, these are one-day occasions as a rule; once the thing her tummy didn't like leaves the natural way, she's back on her feet.

I'm starting to lose hope where the dratted paperwork is concerned.
Mum's back on her feet, thanks.

I try to avoid anything that involves calculations. I can only admire your tenacity. Dealing with bureaucracy is never easy...and I speak as an ex lower echelon bureaucrat.

Calculations are the death of me. Alas, sometimes they are unavoidable. :(

Thank you. Fortunately, she's a tough cookie. Her system has already dealt with the problem, whatever it was, and she's back to her usual self.
