Let's start with Frosty, the snowman, aka Christmas card #28. I'm quite content with this one:

The next card promises to be a tad complicated again, so I was happy with this quick and easy one.

For lunch, I gave the deep-frozen Dampfnudel a try. Despite not having the required equipment, I've managed to mcgyver together a working set, and the thing looked fairly good, even if a bit pale:

Alas, it didn't have much of a taste. Next time I'll have to make a vanilla or plum sauce to go with it because on its own it was quite a disappointment, despite being filled with apricot jam (that didn't have much of a taste, either).

Furthermore, I've finished Chapter 3 of my story and have high hopes that I'll be able to do the next (and last) chapter, soon. It's such a pleasant change of speed to write something short - and something that has the change to be finished withing this eternity, too!

This being a busy day, not much else was done. The weather continues to be cool (around 14 degrees) with intermittent rain, but the insulation done three years ago works like a charm, we still have 22-24 degrees inside the flat without actual heating. If the weather remains like this, though (and it seems so), I'll have to bake a lot in the following days to create a pleasant temperature inside. After a while the walls will cool down, insulation or no insulation.

That loos like something I loved eating when I was in the Austrian Alps as a kid! I believe it was called Gernknudle.

What a shame that the Dampfnudel was so bland. But at least a good base for more interesting sauces!

And that card is really nice — I admire your patience in making them.

I'm so happy to hear that the temperatures are coming down to a manageable level for you. It's positively cold here and my bedroom window has been covered in condensation in the mornings.

Yes, it's Germknödel under a different name. :)

I find paper embroidery relaxing — except when the metallic thread decides it wants to go in directions I don't want it to go. Or when it snaps. Or develops snarls at every other stitch. *g*

That sounds unpleasant. Do you have the heating on?

So are we, even though a sudden drop of 20 degrees (Celsius!) from one day to another was a bit of a shock.

That can definitely be shocking. We get that a lot since we're at the bottom of the Plains.

No clue, but it has to get warm in the house!

Love your Frosty! The pie? tart? not sure what it is called in English, looks lovely. Sorry it did not turn out as well as you wanted.
