Goodness, I'm done in!

I started the day with another trip to Lidl because they had our favourite ginger ale in offer today; when I was there already I did a bit more food shopping, but the bulk of the issue was the ginger ale. Eight 1.5 l bottles are too heavy for me to drag home, so I pushed the shopping trolley all the way to our front door. An hour later, when I started my second tour - to the pharmacy for Mum's medicine against osteoporosis, which I didn't get and to take out the selective garbage - the trolley was already gone. One of the old ladies on her way to Lidl obviously used it as a rolator. *g*

Anyway, I got home with things unfinished this time, we had breakfast, then I launched the last part of the kitchen project. Since the exterminators were due today again (they come three times a year to do preventive spraying) I wiped the bathroom and the loo again; after spraying you must not wipe the floor for ten days or so. And since I was on the roll, I went out of the flat and wiped the entire corridor. That is something we inhabitants do whenever we come around doing it, and since we apparently no longer have a cleaning help, I have to do it myself in the foreseeable future.

When I was done with all this sh*it, we both took a nap (Mum was cleaning the drawer with the eating utensils all morning), and promptly overslept, missing the first part of our daily TV routine. But at least we had a bit of rest. Then we started waiting for the bug guy, who arrived after 7pm. That was an hour ago, and we are really done for the day. Tomorrow I intend to take some me-time, but you know it about the best laid plans of mice and men...

We are now decked for months! They were reduced in price by 30%, that was a chance I couldn't let slip, considering how the prices for soft drinks have skyrocketed in the last two years.

That's funny about the shopping cart. We live not far from a super-Walmart that also sells groceries. You can see their carts parked and abandoned all over town. They have an attendee at the front entrance/exit but they don't stop you from taking the carts then out to the parking lot and from there there is no checkpoint at all!

Wow! That's late to be arriving for any job. I'm not sure I would have allowed anyone in at that time of night. Great work on getting the cleaning done, however.

Nah, we've known him for years, he always came after 6pm because I had the afternoon shift at work for years. Today he just got a bit later because work had piled up. He's a nice and reliable one.

That´s quite late for the bug guy to arrive! Besides, I´m not sure if I´d want to put my feet onto a floor contaminated with poison for ten days...

They only spray along the wall and the water pipes, so we don't put our feet onto the substance. It's said to be harmless for people, too — I hope it's true.
