Actually, it should be Day 2, since I've already cleaned out and rearranged one shelf of the kitchen cupboard yesterday, but that doesn't really count that much.

So, today I scrubbed the oven, the tiles above the oven, the sink and the working surface, the doors of the other cupboard (inside and out), the fridge from the outside, and Mum was washing up things all day. Like the tea service that decoratively (and unused, since we don't do tea) rests on top of the fridge (which is so tall that I need a two-step ladder to reach it), the various drinking glasses that stand on the working surface (because she refuses to put them into the cupboard), and so on.

Originally, I wanted to finish the entire project, but by the early afternoon we were both too tired, plus temperatures climbed up to 33 degrees again, so we decided to call it a day. So I still have to do the drawer with the eating utensils and wipe the entire kitchen floor tomorrow, but that's not so bad. We had copious rain less than an hour ago (surprisingly enough, with barely any leakage on the balcony), so hopefully the weather will cool down a bit, at least for tomorrow. Mum's still of two minds whether she wants to wash the ceramic spice jars that weigh a ton, each one of them, but we'll see.

On more delightful news, I've finished Card #25 and took a group picture from #13-25. As you can see, they are of different levels of sophistication; my favourite is the wreath with the large bow and the red berries.

The colours are just a tad milder in original; I've edited the photo for sharpness and that darkened the colours somewhat. Still, I think they look well enough.

In the morning I also started rewrite parts of the chapter I'm currently working on, to add some details of my previous research. The balancing act is to add enough detail to satisfy the science part of science fiction, but not so much that people would flee in terror. *g*

I don't do this voluntarily. But needs must. 😬

I love the wreath, although I suspect that was a lot of effort. It is beautiful. I have come to the conclusion that I am the direct opposite of your mum. I want absolutely everything put away, out of sight. My mind keeps trying (and failing) to come up with ways to hide the tea making stuff, cutting boards and food scraps recycling bin.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I like to have basic things at hand, but if it were up to me, our flat wouldn't be half that cluttered as it is, and non-necessities would be safely put away.

Not until we are really ill. We both hate tea with a passion.

Thank you for reminding me that scrubbing the kitchen is in order for me, too!

I love the wreath card especially.

Cleaning the kitchen like that is a really big job — definitely too much for one day, especially in that heat.

Yes, especially as I wanted more than just wipe the floor with a mop.
