I am so fed up

... with this stupid heat! Granted, today we had "only" 35°C - again - but we have apparently stored all that heat in our bodies somehow. I'm miserable. Tomorrow there'll supposedly be some thunderstorms, which means we might have even more leakage on the balcony, and it won't be any cooler afterwards, just hot and humid, hurrah - NOT!
I did the shopping at 7am today, and even then it was fairly warm already. But I was at home around 8am again, which meant I had about an hour until Mum got up. I've finished another embroidered card, did some writing, watched some telly and in the afternoon I just vegetated. The funniest part is that I manage to freeze, even by these temperatures, when I'm tired. And what time have I not been tired in the last four years?
Two phone chats with two friends/ex-colleagues were the bright spot of the day. Granted, I was the one who called, but that's something I've gotten used to. If I want to escape total isolation, I have to be the one to go after them. Everyone else has a life that keeps them too busy.
Tomorrow I'll have to do some cooking again, part of which - the pear compote that we'll eat iced instead of a soup - I'll probably do in the morning again. I hope the thunderstorms will come somewhat later, so that I can open all windows and air the flat a bit before all hell breaks lose.

Temperatures have been going up and down constantly here for the last 1-2 weeks, not fun either but better than what you are dealing with

Date: 2024-08-18 09:47 pm (UTC)It was 100 degrees fahrenheit (37.77 celsius) here today, thank goodness for Air Conditioning!! I feel for you on the heat, although, I imagine I am much more used to the temperatures you are having over there than you and your Mum. What you consider pleasant is more than likely too cold for me, heheh, all what you are used to. Anyway, I hope the weather improves for you soon, never fun to be too hot or too cold.
