Behold Christmas cards #19 and 20 in their full glory:

I've also finished #20 and started #21, both if which are relatively simple Nativity scenes but still more complicated than the stars. Let's hope I won't mess them up completely, with my brain fried beyond help. It's still 37°C over here - which is one degree back from the 38 we had in the early afternoon, but we are still not freezing.

I did the grocery shopping at 7.30am, when temperatures were still somewhat bearable, then we let down all the blinds and have been sitting in darkness (or in artificial light) ever since. Fun, fun - NOT. At least I didn't have to cook - iced plum compote and Flammkuchen that I bought at Aldi, plus leftover salad, alcohol-free Radler and ice cream did the trick. I could live like that very long, TBH, but Mum needs her cooked meals from time to time.

What was surprising was the fact that I got this plot twist idea for Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage, and I actually wrote three pages in the afternoon; okay, one of them was using some dialogue from an original episode, but still. That's more than I'd have written for quite some time. Also, I've figured out that I'd end the story after the next (half-written) chapter and call it Part One. I've also got the basic idea for the first four chapters of Part Two. 23 chapters are enough for one story, especially as the sequel promises to be at least as long. Not that people would actually read the story, but I like presenting it in smaller chunks.

Hmm. I think i was twelve when I began to show some interest in Enterprise. It did not last long, at that age I was less attracted by watching TV but loved reading.

This is not about the classic!Enterprise (which I get to see first at the age of 30 or so under the rock where I live) but the 5th series with Captain Sockhead Archer, played by the rather uncharismatic Scott Bakula. So I recast him with John Barrowman, gave him a few personality traits of Jack Harkness and have great fun writing him this way. *g*

Insanely hot there. How horrible to have those high temperatures back:(

The cards are so pretty. I love them.

Good idea to divide the story into a Part One and Part Two. You're over 100K words already!! Good going!!

Well, yeah, as usual it has more chapters than hits, but that can't be helped. I just miserably lack the popularity gene, both in writing and in real life.

I'm glad you like the cards. I intend to make a great many more and send off quite a few of them to my online friends for Christmas. You folks can choose your favourite then. ;))

I know Bakula more from NCIS.
I've almost forgotten he was in Star Trek.

He was extremely forgettable in Star Trek, IMO.

After a few lovely days in the twenties, this morning it's fifteen degrees, with a promise of rain at some point. Yay for the English summer...not.

I understand your mum's need for cooked food occasionally, even in hot weather. I adore salads etc. but my mind eventually craves something cooked.

The cards are lovely — and well done on the idea and the writing.
