... was what I did today. Let's start with embroidered cards #15 and 16:

As you can see, I'll have to add some more glitzer to the left one; one last fingerprint remained invisible for the naked eye but showed up rather brutally on the photo. *sigh*

And then I made banana bread because I had some overripe bananas, some leftover chocolate chips and all the hazelnuts I had to remove from muesli and chocolate bars because Mum can't eat them. I chopped them really fine, and they became pleasantly soft inside the cake, so I'm proud.

I was also grocery shopping; had to use the chance of raspberries being available for a reduced price. Tomorrow I'll have to make another short trip to Lidl, but I hope Mum will feel up to come with me as far as the playground and sit there on a bench, watching the toddlers while I'm gone.

So do I. Such a versatile cake, and so easy to make!

I envy your mum, having such an attentive daughter. I cannot imagine anyone else digging out the hazelnuts from muesli and chocolate bars.

The truth is, neither of us likes hazelnuts in natural form, but they are very expensive and often come hidden in other foodstuffs. The whole nut chocolate was a gift. I picked out the nuts when I used the chocolate for the millionaire’s shortbread covering and saved them for the next suitable baking project. We don’t throw out food, unless it has gone bad.

I made banana bread, too. But just the very plain version; I had bananas needing using but nothing much else :)

The good thing with banana bread is that you can add just about anything to the mix — or leave it as plain as you like.

Banana bread weekend ahead! Mine got fed with additional blackberries, a peach and walnuts. More room in the fridge now!

Lovely cards! I like banana bread. My aunt used to make it a lot and would occasionally send me a loaf. It was more like cake than bread.
