Today wasn't much cooler - only one degree down, but 32°C is still too much for me. Especially as I had to do the food shopping. I took off at 7.30 in the morning, got home around 9, helped Mum with her morning routine, and shortly before 10 we left again: she for the playground right next to our building, where she sat comfortably on her extra pillows on a shadowy bench and admired the toddlers, and me for Lidl for the next part of the shopping. By then it was 29°C already.

Getting home, we let down all the blinds and had the usual late brunch... after which we decided to skip the midday meal and only had coffee, ice cream, compote and a sandwich around 4pm. Before which we both had two separate short naps, interrupted by crap telly.

Nothing else got done today. Mum was - still is - watching the UEFA 2024, I read some fanfic and played Solitaire on Methuselah-the-laptop. Then I talked to Heidi on the phone and am now slowly returning to life since temperatures have dropped a few (very few) degrees.

I hope your mum wasn't too disappointed with yesterday's match.

Nah, she was rooting for the Germans. ;)

My grandfather — her father — was German... well, a Transsylvanian Saxon anyway. We usually root for the Germans; more so if their victory might cause our PM a stroke. *g*

I can't begin to imagine a temperature of 30 +
It was probably 20 c in my garden today and yesterday, and I barely poked my nose put, although I did refill the water bowls and took a few photos.

Temperatures well over 30°C aren't unusual for Hungarian summer. Some weird people even enjoy them. Not me, though.

Yes — too hot to shop comfortably! I have watched most of the Spain v Italy match this evening whilst doing other things — it was a good match. I wonder if your mother agrees with me that Italy are not as good as they used to be — less skill and also less flair.

Yeah, the only score they had landed in their own gate... or whatever the thing is called in English. *g*

Those temperatures are brutal. As I type this, at nine in the morning, it is 17c here. It's a lovely temperature and I may go for a short stroll.

Well, that would be a bit fresh for me, but it's what one is used to, I guess. Still, everything over 30 is too much for me, too.

mm, ice cream — so good during heat spells. I cannot have any as I am on another diet, lol.
