I went to the Stories of Arda archive to read some good Tolkien fiction. Stories posted there are usually rather nice, despite the theme restrictions.
Strangely enough, I found that I couldn't. Then I realized that I've barely read anything else than the updates of my personal friends for quite a while. I do re-read sometimes my favourites that I've saved to my hard drive, but somehow I can't bear to read anything *new*. Anything else than a handful of one-chapter fics.
I don't know what's wrong with me. I used to *love* long stories, and I've been planning to work myself through Daw's collected works for... well forever, to just bring one example. There are other authors that would be worth reading, too. And I simply can't.
All I'm reading nowaday is some trash in my various sci-fi fandoms. Nothing that actually would be *worth* reading. That's so sad. :(
