I was on a shopping tour all morning. Trying to find some light summer trousers proved to be a failure. At least I didn't have to cook anything else but a carrot soup - I've brought home some oversized cheesy buns and those served as the second part of the lunch. Plus some coffee and ice cream.

Temperatures have dropped considerably in recent days, at least in the mornings and the evenings. I don't really mind. Still better than the sweltering heat we used to have last week.

Nothing even remotely creative has been done today. I was dead on my feet when I got home.

Oof, yeah, clothes shopping is extremely draining, all the more so when you can't even find what you needed and have a repeat looming over you. No wonder you weren't feeling up for any creative tasks afterward.

It is near-impossible to find anything that would fit my size and still looks somewhat acceptable.
Shoes are even worse, due to my swollen feet. *sigh*

not meaning to interfere, but have you asked for medical help for your feet? One of my feet is a size larger than the other so I wore sandals for years
When my ankles began to swell alarmingly, the GP sent me to an orthoticist, and I wear shoes designed for me. They are rather clumpish, but this year's have daisies on them! Not Mary Quant-style daisies, but rather realistic-looking daisies, although in the same colour as the shoes

It is a circulatory problem. If I lie a lot or walk briskly a lot, it's not so bad. Standing around is the worst. My grandmother had the same and lived 96 years, so I guess I'll survive, too. It's my bad luck that nowadays narrow shoes are fashionable — shoes I can't even get into. Back when Birkenstock still regularly brought out extra wide shoes, it was easy, but they stopped doing so. It wasn't profitable enough, I guess. :(

yes, mine is also circulatory — not helped by the fact that my feet are different sizes

It really does. Especially when you need oversized clothes.

Clothes shopping is a particular kind of awful. I find something I like and then I buy multiples in order to avoid any future ordeal.

Creativity is a hobby. We get to it when we can. I find it difficult to buy light summer trousers, too. Everyone wants to push patterned palazzo's at me, but I just want something plain. Also, they tend to be linen or cotton, which involves ironing after every wash, and I avoid ironing wherever possible.

All that I saw were made of clinging artificial stuff that made me look like a fat cow and were too warm for summer.

Searching for summer trousers is a pain in the Schubert. They always sell those with the flowers and whatelse will make your eyes water...

I've long stopped caring about colour or pattern. What counts for me would be the fabric — but all I saw was of polyamid or whatnot, warm and clinging, so that the skin couldn't breathe in them.
