... to visit E., our art teacher, with whom I've been causal friends since 1995. She has a workshop for upper primary pupils on Monday afternoons, which basically means she offers simple craft possibilities for whoever might be interested. Today, there only were about ten or so kids - all girls - so we could chat while they worked.

I've been considering getting a smartphone for some time, and E. has one that I think I might be able to handle. She offered to accompany me at Telekom's customer service, with her phone, so that I could get something as similar to hers as possible. Good friends are a real blessing!

Not much else got done today. I've finished two more tiny teddies - only six more to go - we watched some telly, ate leftovers and had the pre-scheduled visit from the exterminator. Profilactically only, thank God.

Good luck with the new smartphone.
You know, it’s a little sad that there are no boys in your friend’s craft group. I’m sure it would have marvellous benefits for them too, not to mention the development of life-long skills. I hate the way society genders things, “this is for boys, this is for girls”. Things like crafts are gender neutral, it’s not like you need certain genitalia or a certain identity to accomplish such things. It’s all so strange. I often feel like I’m out of sync with accepted practices.

There are boys sometimes. It is an open group, everyone can come if they are interested. But girls are in the majority, that is true. Boys prefer electronic gadgets.

I've had a smart phone for a couple of years now and am still getting used to it. That said, I wouldn't be without it. A also helps me out with discovering functions occasionally.

The best thing is having a skilled layperson near you who can help without confusing you with all the technobabble. *g*

I contemplated calling an exterminator to fight the moths, but hubby said no. He must have read the tariff list...

We have a contract with the exterminator: they come four times a year to spray our flat profilactically. A different company did the spraying in the entire building on the same day (mere coincidence), so I hope we are well shielded for a while.

You'll find the Smartphone handy once you get used to it.
