... spent in the kitchen, mostly.

I've made savory scones; very much like the ones below, just with grated cheese on top instead of the sunflower seeds:

Mum likes these so much that she eats them even if she doesn't have much of an appetite, so I thought she deserved a treat. ;)

I also made brioches; the real, French-style ones, not the sorry excuses they sell in the supermarket under that name:

Today's batch ended up a bit lopsided because the dough had been very soft; all the little heads slid aside. For that, the colour turned out better. I didn't make new photos because of my difficulties with the aging mini and with Pinterest, but I swear they looked more or less like these, just a bit crooked. *g*

Crafting-wise I didn't manage much. My fingers are still hurting, so the songbook was no option. I did make the hangings for five more keyrings before I'd run out of felt stripes. Tomorrow I'll have to look for more leftovers for the remaining three rings. Seventeen done by now, and that's progress, too.

Today's walk was a bit short, just till the entrance of the house because it was raining slightly. Still, some fresh air did us both good - we napped much better afterwards!

So, that was the day in a nutshell. Not much, but at least peaceful and quiet.

They should come up with a way to share more than just the pictures. ;)

Two of my favourite eats too. I love a cheese scone and I love brioche. I have to stop myself buying both of them because they are mainly sold in packs, and once I start eating them I can't stop. I mean, they go stale so quickly that I am obliged to binge eat them, right?

This is an idiot proof recipe. I've made it with the kids in the Hort several times — the things are done in half an hour, including the grating of the cheese!

They were. I was pleasantly surprised how well the brioches turned out.
