We stood up earlier because of the chiropodist. I had to get myself ready, Mum ready, breakfast ready and the living room rearranged, so that the chiropodist would actually have room to work. Under our crowded conditions that is always a logistical nightmare. By the time all this was done I was so tired I had to lie down and have a nap. It is fortunate that the chiropodist is always late... and always has very good excuses. *insert sarcasm*

The rest of the morning was spent with her working first on me, then on Mum, while I was making coffee and fetching water and emptying the washing basin. We don't have enough free space in the bathroom, so this particular adventure has to take place in the living room... which doesn't make things easier.

When the chiropodist left (it was nearly half past one in the afternoon), I cooked apple sauce for lunch, took three deep breaths and the physiotherapist was already there. While she worked with Mum, I finished the Topfenknödel und the Tütensuppe, which were the other ingredients of lunch, and we ate after she'd left. We barely got the tail end of our usual TV programme - the afternoon one, that is, as we completely missed the morning ones.

Mum then did the washing-up while I played Solitaire on Methuselah-the-laptop, after which my friend Evie called on the phone. She was very happy with the new baby book (for her first granddaughter-to-come - she already has two grandsons), but completely ridden down by the bundled insanity that is school in these days. Poor thing; and her children still don't seem to realize that the work of a teacher isn't finished by the time he or she leaves the school building. Gah!

Talking to her took fairly long, which means I've missed my scheduled dinner time. 8/16 diet seems to fail at least twice every good week; I need to do something about it. My poor feet can't afford me putting on weight again. My wrecked nerves, OTOH, need the chocolate to function at least semi-normally. Not an easy compromise, that.

I believe I don't have to mention that nothing that needs a shard of creativity - or at least two functioning brain cells firing off at the same time - got done today, right?

And not the kind of busy I like. *sigh*
But that's old age for you: everything takes much longer and the day is over before you'd have done anything of real importance.

Teachers work so hard, and often long after school. {{{hugs}}}

And yet every ignorant outsider says they only work 4-5 hours a day...

That was one busy day! I understand your diet woes. I manage to miss my timing target at least once per week. That said, it seems to be working so far.

It's hard to keep your timing target when other people/things interfere and make you miss it. :(

So what if there are people all around who interfere with your diet? I tried so often, but always failed spectacularly, especially when the boys are here!

When I was younger, I could eat anything and not gain weight. Then, in my 50's I started growing in the wrong direction. Now, I am always dieting and never really succeeding. I lose a few pounds and then gain them back. It is such a pain to have to watch everything you put in your mouth. Sorry you had another busy day, those can really run you down. Hope the rest of your week is better.
