Sooo, I've got a lot of small things done today. Firstly, washing my hair, which is always due on Tuesday morning, so that I'd look semi-civilized at choir practice.

Then one of our neighbours dropped by, plagued by her conscience for asking Mum when she'd got back home yesterday (she had thought Mum had been taken to hospital, not the blind lady in the flat opposite ours) and brought a plotted hyacinth and a bar of chocolate as a belated birthday present. Which was nice of her, even though when she left twenty minutes later we both had a raging headache. We are "blessed" with people in our environment who can talk a mile a minute (on a good day), and that can be mentally draining.

So I decided that some crafting was needed for my inner balance and finished edging that page from the Christmas quiet book I had started yesterday. I also worked quite a lot on the two white Christmas teddy bears; they are almost done. All I need to do is to stitch together the socks from which they are emerging and stuff them. That can be done tomorrow, if things go according the plan (which they rarely do, but hope dies last, as we all know).

Mum had a visit from the physiotherapist lady, so I left home a good deal earlier than choir practice would start. I went to Aldi first, to buy something for supper (our lunch was practically nonexistent), then to the sewing supply store (which, fortunately, still hasn't closed), where I bought lots of felt sheets that I didn't urgently need but that were of excellent quality and softness and of vibrant colours. Yes, they were price-y. But I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go to horse races and hardly ever waste any money on clothes. So I thought I deserved some nice thing, too.

I also went to the drugstore and to the pharmacy, where I didn't get what I really needed, although I did buy some lotion and horse salve and deodorants and stuff to stock up, as we were running on our last bottles. I was so pissed off that the pharmacy didn't have some very simple items that one can usually get in any pharmacy that I promptly forget to go to the stationer's for some cardstock that I'd need for the baby books. Ah, well, I'll try not to forget about it on Thursday when the big grocery shopping is due.

Choir practice was great fun today. We sang some really cheerful pieces, plus Adrienne took little Abel with her (he's turning 4 in autumn), who felt it necessary to share with us his newly gained ability to mimic the sirens of a fire engine. He was a bit disappointed that we as choir proved to be louder than he as fire engine. *g*

Have in a off-key fire engine in the room, when you're trying to hit the right notes, must have been challenging. Children that age are adorable (mostly) little bundles of chaos.

Never found felt sheets in shops here save at Christmas time...
