Taking it easi(er)
Jan. 17th, 2024 05:48 pmI've finished the songbook page, despite numerous interruptions. I'll grant my fingers a short break, I things. Sewing through up to 5 layers of thick felt and two additional layers of double-sided tape was a painful experience. Maybe I'll do something with paper in the next couple of days - if I find the time. Paper crafts demand a lot more time and working surface.
Not having to cook didn't save me much time. Household chores seem to multiply, and Mum only watches certain programmes on the telly if I, too, watch them with her. Otherwise, she just sits there in her armchair. Unless there are book-keeping to do, of course. That's her great passion... and means I don't have to deal with finances. Double win, as I am hopeless with those.
Mum had a visit from the physiotherapist lady. I'm always reassured when that happens; she'd take notice if something wasn't okay with Mum. So far we've been fortunate. But she'll turn 92 in two weeks' time.
After a longer pleasantly dry period, it started raining again. For now, it's mild rain, so I hope the balcony will hold out. I wish someone would come and fix it at last - we've been waiting for over 3 years already!
