Since the celery salad I made yesterday would fill a football stadion (soccer for you Americans), I needed to think of something that would go with it. I settled for honey chicken (without the chili and honey sauce, which I totally forgot to make - a fact I only realized when I was already setting the table) with mashed potatoes. Another round of Tütensuppe served as entree and the date and walnut bread as afters. Everything was nice and soft and yummy, so Mum very much approved.

I also did a bit of crafting: finished the inside-the-mill page (the one with the vicious flour sack) and started the next one. Not much, I admit, but an important detail out of my hair, so it's okay.

I even managed to do a tiny bit of writing, plus I re-read the already translated chapters of the next installment for "The Lost Years" series (my original Trek/original BSG crossover). I have forgotten that three entire chapters are already done and the fourth one half-finished. I might pick it up for the March session of [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo. After all, the story is complete, I just have to translate. Which is hard work, considering that it's written in Hungarian, but with German dialogues, but at least I won't have to wreck my brain about the plot part. *g*

Other than that, I took down the dried washing, solved some crossword puzzles, played some Solitaire and made an unsuccessful attempt to call my friend Evie. And now the day is over again. Hard to believe that we are almost at the middle of January, is it?

In Hungarian but with German dialogues? *giggles*

Well, I encountered both shows in German first and was too lazy to translate the terminology. *g*
These stories were originally written back in the late 1980s.

Man, don't remind me, how is it already halfway through January, where did time go!

Which, btw, today I read an article talking about another BSG reboot and then it said this is a reboot of the Moore reboot, and I was.... hm, yeah, now I'm feeling old. I have memories of that being the reboot to be released!

I endured about ten minutes of the Moore reboot — and never tried it again.

Time is flitting by far too quickly.

No kidding! I'm constantly stressed to catch up with my daily chores and am completely brain dead by mid-afternoon from the monotony of them.

Especially if you don't forget the honey and chili sauce, eh? *g*

I actually like celery salad but it seems your celery might be different from ours here. I make mine with sliced celery and chopped nuts, with a simple dressing.

If you've made too much, you could perhaps make a soup and add some to it. I often do that with leftovers.

Actually, I threw out the leftovers today. We ate the salad for two days; I just couldn't face it a third time. It happens very rarely that I'd throw out food, but this was one of those rare times.

Oh that sounds so familiar to me — I manage to forget something I meant to do for a meal quite often.

I'm not used to regular cooking — it used to be Grandma's field, and then Mum's — and frankly, I find it boring and bothersome. That's why I forget things so often. It never happens to me while baking, of course. ;))

About your last sentence: I have to agree. It sometimes feels like time is moving very fast, too fast to keep up with.

Time really does fly, January seemed to be much more chaotic than usual.
