Disappointed
Jan. 11th, 2024 08:32 pmWell, the jumping flea idea didn't work out. I've nearly ruined the entire windmill page while trying to insert eyelets with a tool that wasn't good for it. So I've sewn on the flea firmly, after all. Too bad, but at least the sails of the windmill can be turned around. And the sacks of wheat can be loaded into the cart, too. Ah, well.
On other "news", we had a visit from the talkative chiropodist lady, which lasted all morning and exhausted us completely. How someone can talk for hours without stopping is beyond me. Each time she's here, she leaves us brain dead. The positive aspect of her visit is, though, that she took with her the 3-legged, round breakfast table our conductor gifted upon Mum as a belated Christmas present. It was well meant - just completely unusable as a breakfast table. Mum valiantly gave it a try... it lasted about four minutes. Now it will serve as a platform for a big potted plant somewhere else. I just don't know how to tell Monica what happened with her present. *ducks*
I've made Grießnockerlsuppe aus der Tüte for lunch, as well as Topfenknödel with the not-quite jam I had made from pink grapefruits before Christmas. It still hasn't set (the not-jam, I mean), but it is yummy, so that's okay. Tomorrow I'll have the big grocery shopping cruise, so I'll have to come up with something quick and easy to cook... I just don't have a clue what that should be. Cooking is such a nuisance, especially deciding what one ought to cook. But I'll make a date and walnut bread for the weekend, now that the Christmas cookies are all gone.

Date: 2024-01-12 06:50 pm (UTC)My problem with ready meals is that I have to find a brand yet that would taste good. (Plus the expensive part, of course.) I am very choosy with my meals; I like fairly few things, and my requirements are rather specific. Like very little fat, no olive oil, onions and peppers give me a tummy ache and so on.
