After having to get up an hour earlier for two days in a row (so that Mum can attend to Mass via television) I managed to oversleep today. Barely 15 minutes, mind you, but those 15 minutes were sorely missed during the rest of the morning!

Nonetheless, I managed to do some crafty stuff today. I cut out the lining for the Christmas quiet book (thin felt pages need some padding between them) and used double-sided tape to put them together. Still not sure whether I'll hem the pages with cross-grain ribbon or simply edge them with blanket stitch. Both solutions have their advantages and disadvantages; I'll have to decide about the way of binding first.

I also worked a tiny bit on the songbook; really just a little bit and stopped as soon as I no longer enjoyed it. I find that I don't manage much in one setting. Perhaps all that hectic work before the fair led to a minor burnout craft-wise. Ah well, my crafting mojo will come back eventually.

In the early afternoon I managed to get some writing done: half a scene for a later chapter for "Crisis on Aquarius", a mostly Classic BSG story that I've been planning ever since I had finished "The Lost Warrior". I'm not sure it will go anywhere, but just being able to write was a relief.

Mum cooked Sauerkrautauflauf today, but in the end we decided to have leftover soup and slightly petrified Christmas cookies for lunch. Which means I won't have to cook for the next two days, yay!

I had a lazy late afternoon, reading fanfic and playing Solitaire on Methuselah the laptop, and then started researching baby books on YouTube, since I'll have to produce two of those by April. I think I'll use this video as reference, although my books will be quite different, since I can't get my grubby hands on those cute paper kits. But I've bought two kits last year, one for boys and one for girls; not my favourites, but they'll have to do. At least the books appears simple enough to make, and that's an important factor. The important factor right now.

So, that was the day. No social life for me, but plenty of needful activities and crap telly, so I'm not complaining... much.

Always a delight!
Glad to hear that my Christmas card has reached you. It only took what? Three weeks? *g*

It's surprising to me, how some days losing fifteen minutes can be no big deal, but other days it escalates into a disaster.

It depends on the time of the day. I don't mind it in the afternoon, when I'm flattened already, but it's very inconvenient when it ruins my morning routine.

I am having a day like that today. Yesterday we had friends around in the afternoon who have helped eat most of the Christmas baking up, and this morning I have been to the doctor's for the cortisone injection in my knee, where he told me 'to take it easy for the next 72 hours' :) So knitting and reading will be the plan.

And isn't that the best the doctor could order? *g*

I am so glad that no matter how late I wake up, it will not interfere with my routine. Things will get done late, that´s all. It´s a bit different, when the boys are here, because they won´t be happy when having lunch late, but since it´s only hubby at the moment, I see no problem. There´s a fridge full of groceries he can eat from, if he needs early nourishment...

Well, it is a bit different if you have an elderly parent you have to care for — but I don't have to tell that you of all people. You've been there, done that already, right?

Good to see you writing. Also, hurrah for a break from cooking. You've become an expert on baby books, I see ;0)
