Advent 2023 - Day 12
Dec. 12th, 2023 07:24 pmI was lucky. The rain stopped somewhen last evening, and I was greeted by bright sunshine in the morning. So I used my chance, brought my wares to school, and on my way home I made a little detour to the craft supply discounter. The advantage of that place is that I get thing for a somewhat reduced price when I do my shopping in the name of our school; and since I made things for the school fair from the supplies I buy there, I can do it with good conscience.
So I bought four packages of size A4 felt sheets (in white, beige, brown and moss green - very pretty colours) and three single large, size A5 felt sheets (in burgundy red, dark green and lime green). I also bought a new craft punch, with which I can punch out little trees (not pine trees!), some small bells (in gold, red and silver) and 3 packages of machine-cut felt ornaments - Christmas-themed ones, of course. Those are so helpful when I make my quiet books!
We won't discuss the amount of money I spent, despite the reduced prices, no, Preciousss, we won't. And tomorrow there are three other shops on my to-go list, before and after my appointment at the hairdresser's, so yeah, it will get even worse. *ducks in shame*
On my way home from the crafty discounter I also dropped by at Aldi and bought some yummy baked goodies (of the bread-based sort; we really don't need any more sweets in the house!), and we had sandwiches and Tütensuppe for lunch. I'm really lucky that Mum is so agreeable about such things. I wouldn't have the strength to cook today, either! But tomorrow there will be apple slices fried in pancake batter, so yeah, we do eat cooked food from time to time! *g*

Date: 2023-12-15 05:44 pm (UTC)Eh, it's... The usual around this time of the year. Very stressful and lots of family drama. 3 weeks of family visit coming up. Mom's health is still troublesome, too, her blood pressure post-Covid is getting under control but between Covid inflammation and weeks of no exercise it fucked up her arthritis something awful and we're still struggling with that very much.
