... our rejuvenated bathtub:

Isn't it pretty? Well, it should be; the poor guy worked at it for nearly seven hours(!). And Pinterest even deigned to upload the pic in a normal size, yay!

Of course, we can't use the bath for 24 hours now (we decided to give it another half-day, just to be sure), and we still have to wait until Saturday to see if Louise (the washing machine, partially seen on the left) survived her adventure (=being temporarily moved to the kitchen) undamaged, but the view is still nice, isn't it?

Less nice was the fact that I had to get up two hours earlier than usual, so that we both could perform our morning routine before the techie arrived (he came at 8.30am). OTOH, that fact gave me the chance to write my Christmas cards in the morning and to dig out that Christmas quiet book I had started a year ago and never finished. I got a neat idea for the front cover and nearly finished it. Only one reindeer has to be sewn on and various embellishments (like star-shaped sequins) to add, which I hope to make tomorrow or the day after.

We also had visitors (for all of 5 minutes) in the middle of the chaos: Adrienne dropped by with 3-year-old Abel to pick up her oat milk that she'd forgotten here during her last visit. And I had various phone calls from various friends, with the result that I'll (hopefully) able to exchange my excess sugar that I won't need for margarine that I'll very much need tomorrow, plus I can deliver the Advent calendar into Ilonka's hand on her way to her eldest grandson to fulfil Granny duties. *g*

It does indeed, and we'll gladly wait the required time until we can finally use it. Now if only Louise would start as usual on Saturday...

Yeah, and so am I: done in. Especially if I consider the "delight" to stuffing everything into the bathroom again. If I can. It has been my experience that you can never stuff all the things (that fit perfectly any given cupboard or whatever previously) back to their place, once you have taken them out.

That is true. I'm glad it's not me, but a known phenomenon.

That sounds like a very productive day. That bath does look very neat. Be sure to let us know how it is to use. Sadly, as I rent, it's not a solution I can use.

Will do! I for my part would have voted for a shower cubicle, but our bath isn't really suited for such a one.

I did not know they could just cut a door in your original tub like that, how neat. It looks like it turned out great. Hope Louise survived the move.

Well, learning to use it will still be a challenge for Mum — it isn't exactly floor level, even so — but she'll be relieved to be able to take a shower again, after having washed in a wash-basin for almost three years.
