We had the bi-weekly cleaning frenzy today, and on Wednesday they'll come to make our bathtub a walk-in one. The flat looks like a refugee camp: we had to empty the bathroom, and boy was it full of stuff...

Still, after re-establishing the original configuration of the flat (save for the bath... and the kitchen where all that stuff from the bath went) I actually felt inspired to do some crafting. If for no other reason than to save the last shreds of my sanity.

I filled some little plastic bottles with glitter powder and the beads of a broken necklace, creating something akin a snow globe effect, and decorated them with translucent stickers. They look really great.

Also, I recycled eighteen ribbon rosettes, complete with paper flower background, that someone wanted to get rid off. I fixed the rosettes to the flowery background again; I think they look good enough that way, too. If the sun deigns to show its face tomorrow, I'll take a photo of the whole bunch (and also of the Santa pencil holder; I still owe you guys that on).

On the surprise box front, I've reached #110; assuming I've counted right. But I'll have Mum re-count them anyway before the fair. She's the one with the head for numbers.

My friend Elise dropped in around 7pm to deliver her contribution to the Christmas baking. Alas, she forgot that we had cleared that I don't need more sugar (she brought 6 one-kilo packages) but need margarine (she brought none). But she did bring two large boxes of eggs, which was on the original list, and lots of small things that were not. I told her not to bring half the supermarket next time, but I tell her that each year and she still brings lots more than she should.*g*

In any case, I'll have to start looking if I can find margarine for reduced price before I'd use up all my reserves. Fortunately, I've got a few half-pound cubes in the freezer, so I can wait until margarine will be on sale.

At least sugar doesn't have a best before date! 😁

It's going to make such a difference having th walk in bath.

Finding space and time to do some of your crafting is definitely good for your wellbeing — and I like the idea of the glitter bottles.

It sounds as if your baking is going a lot better than mine!

Not as well as I'd like it to go, but it is making progress, yes.

That's a boat load of sugar to find space for! At least it's not going to spoil. Margarine is more expensive than it used to be. What am I saying? EVERYTHING is more expensive than it used to be.

Why do you use margarine and not butter?

Two reasons:
1) Grandma started using it because it's easier on the digestion, or so she thought, and I simply got used to do the same;
2) it is still a great deal cheaper than butter; half the price, in fact.

Hope the sun is out so you can take pics. Also, hope the tub installation goes well.
