I've finished the almost-forgotten pencil holders and am quite content how they turned out. See for yourself:

I've also made surprise box #108. Things are shaping up nicely. So much for the good news.

The bad news is that:
a) We had a visit from the chiropodist lady, who not only talked us to dead but also managed to butcher a bit my feet, so both big toes are somewhat worse for the wear. Putting on shoes tomorrow will be a joy - NOT! But the fridge is practically empty, so I'll have to go out, at least to the supermarket next corner.
b) The planned café visit with my young friend Adrienne (originally meant to happen tomorrow morning) got cancelled because her little son caught some bug in kindergarten. But considering the "joys" of wearing closed shoes right now it is a loss that doesn't devastate me completely. We'll simply have to reschedule; hopefully for a later time when I'll be able to walk properly again.

Oh damn, your poor feet! That's gonna be such a joy tomorrow...

Afraid so. *sigh* She's usually not this brutal, but sometimes professional pride overcomes her and decides that "there is still something I have to dig out", regardless of the consequences. The stupid thing is, once a doctor at Klinik am Südring explained that carving out all the corners actually isn't a good thing. But a 72-year-old professional is hard to persuade...

Obviously, chiropodists don't take the Hippocratic Oath!

That shouldn't happen to a professional ... your poor feet!

It doesn't happen too often, but this wasn't the first time, either. *sigh*

Ow and ouch! Shouldn't the lady be more professional and accept that older feet need a gentle treatment?

She should. Unfortunately, she's one of those persons who always know things better. Or so they believe.

The pencil holders turned out beautifully!

I hope you will indeed limit tomorrow's outing to the corner supermarket. That will be more than enough for your painful feet.

It's a blessing in disguise that the cafe visit had to be cancelled! You would have been miserable with your feet in this condition.

Good luck with getting back on your feet!

Thanks. I'm planning to do some baking tomorrow; fortunately one can do that barefooted... or rather wearing thick, comfortable socks. Our kitchen is quite warm, no stone flooring, so it should be possible.

Oh my, isn’t the chiropodist supposed to improve feet related problems? Not make them worse? Your poor feet!

She is. She just doesn't see there any problems.

I sympathise with your poorly toes. I am still just about flexible enough to be able to butcher my own nails.

I haven't been able to do that for a very long time; at least twenty years, probably even longer.

Oh ouch! I do hope whatever she did will improve things in the long run.

The pencil holders are lovely.

Sorry about your toes, hope the heal quickly. Nothing worse than sore feet.
