Finishing small projects

I had a crafty day again - so much about cutting shorter in lieu of writing. Ah, well, the best laid plans of meeces(*) and men and all that...

Anyway, behold my little Christmas fairies that I've improvised to use up some ready-made felt flowers I couldn't use otherwise. I think they are pretty enough:



I also finished the lavender-infused pillows. I've got seven of them altogether, plus two mini ones that I've turned into keyrings. *g* And I've made pretty labels for the ginger syrup bottle and for the jar in which I've mixed my very own Spekulatius spice (found a simple enough recipe on the 'Net). Pics of those will come later; there simply wasn't enough light by the time I finished.

Furthermore, I've continued rearranging the shelves that serve as our pantry. I'm using elwenlj's method: half a shelf a day. The lowest one now looks fairly civilized, and I've discovered a few things I had completely forgotten about. Like some leftover dried apricots. They're still good, as they were in an airtight jar, but I'll have to use them up for something before they became tough as leather.

All this about ate up my day. I had a short power nap after noon because I just run out of energy, but afterwards I was up and running again. Well... running being relative. *g*

(*)No, this is not a typo, as people acquainted with the get_knitted comm can testify.;))

And the results last exactly until the moment you actually need something from that shelf. Which then would be way back or under a ton of other stuff...

Decluttering and tidying are always best done in small doses. It takes longer but uses less mental bandwidth. You go, sister!

I have allocated spices to small boxes- herbs, peppers, other spices, so that I won´t wreak havoc again. This helps to preserve order, especially if hubby does the seasoning. I so dislike rearranging shelves or drawers!

Yes, I do have my system, too, with transparent plastic boxes, to see what's in them. But my "pantry" — a few shelves in a niche of the Vorzimmer — has so little storage space that I recreate the chaos after a very short time.
