Why, Pinterest, why?

After several weeks of a new upload mechanism - one that resulted in ordinary-sized pictures - they've now switched back to the previous one, thus the photos I upload are tiny again. *grrrrrrrrrrrr!*

So you'd be better off if you didn't click on the picture below; at least here I can size it properly. It is a long overdue pic of the failed pink grapefruit jam that ended up as syrup. Therefore I haven't decorated the jars (as a form of punishment), but the... syrup itself looks very pretty, so I thought I'd share the view:



Otherwise, it was a quiet day. I washed my hair and did a surprising amount of writing while Mum attended to Mass on the telly, then I worked a bit on the small pillow cases. If everything goes according to plan, Eenie will come tomorrow and bring some dried lavender with her. Yay!

Then I fell asleep for an hour and a half over the crossword puzzle. Consequently no Topfenknödel was made - no time, as Mum didn't want to wake me - and we ate leftover Tütensuppe with sandwiches and the rest of the coffee cake. After that we went for a walk, but it was unexpectedly cold and we weren't clad warmly enough, so we turned back after a short time. The odd thing is, I'm still sleepy, despite my long and pleasant nap.

I do not think that hubby would want me to rest at the dining table, because that's where I usually do my crossword puzzles. But the ones I am solving at the moment are so boring that I am tempted to fall asleep! Napping is important for a good health!

Well, I do mine laying on my belly on the bed, so falling asleep is always a strong possibility. ;))

Oh, that syrup does look very nice! if it weren't for it being in jam glasses instead of syrup bottles you'd never guess it wasn't supposed to be syrup all along hehe

Some days are just sleepy days. The weather here has taken a turn for the autumn too. It was 11c yesterday, which prompted me to break out the faux fur coat for the first time this year.

Artemis has a point — if you had some bottles to decant it into I think the syrup would make some very good gifts. Or you could just put it back in the pan and add a little gelatine to set it a little more so that it remains marmalade, now I think of it.

I've already tried the gelatine thing — it didn't work. Still, the whole thing has thickened just a tiny bit during the week spent in the fridge. We opened the smallest jar today and ate the whole thing with the Topfenknödel; it was delicious. So they might make good gifts in this state as well. We'll see.
