I took down the washing. Now that we've got some minimal heating, it dries a lot faster, thank God.

I've picked up Evie's felt songbook again and finished the three crows that had been pending for months. Now all finger puppets are done and I can continue with the actual book. Nearly all major background parts are cut out and even partially sewn on, but there's still a lot to do. At least I won't have to procrastinate about the design, unlike with the Christmas quiet book.

I also cut up a lot of old, once-used Christmas wrapping paper for 56 more surprise boxes. I hope I'll be able to fill them all. My (also retired) colleague, Ilike, is currently decluttering her house and promised me to hand over all Christmassy stuff that can be forced into an empty toilet roll. *g*

I then made lunch: Spargelsuppe aus der Tüte and boiled pasta with cheese. We still had most of the banana bread I baked yesterday - one half is also left for tomorrow, with half the remaining soup or pasta. Which is a good thing because tomorrow I won't have time to waste with cooking. Not such mundane things as lunch anyway. The next big action will be grapefruit marmalade. *g*

I think so, yes; I just hope it turns out as it's supposed to. I want it to be red, truly red!

When do you need to have the songbook done?

Theoretically by Christmas, as Evie also has her birthday on Christmas Eve, but she won't mind if I'm a tad late. :)

Ah, that's giving you some good time, at least.

I feel your pain re finding enough small Christmas stuff to fit in a small box. I made an advent calendar, with hand made boxes, as a Christmas present for my cousins, a few years ago, and did not consider how difficult it would be to find small items. In the end, I made a lot. One of my go to's was to make tiny scrolls, using tooth picks to roll around. I added a bead to each end of the toothpick and wrote a bible verse on the scroll.

That is a good idea for friends; I doubt our students would appreciate it, though. So it's one piece of candy and small items. A good thing I made those apricot pit bugs, as well as painted a lot of small, laser-cut wooden items like angels, stars, bells and the likes.

It´s the worst time to hang up clothing- it will stay forever on the drying rack!

True, but we do have to wash the dirty clothing anyway. *sigh*

I used to love grapefruit, especially the ruby red variety. Sadly, grapefruit interferes with my medication, so have not had any in years. Grapefruit marmalade sounds absolutely delicious!
