The Velcro work on all 12 mini sewing kits is done. Now my fingers hurt, but I'm happy to have this phase behind me. I also started sewing the kits together and filling them with sewing utensils: needles, glass-headed pins, safety pins. Three of them are finished, I only have to add the thread samples. Yay!

Other than that, we had laundry day and I cooked lunch. We watched some telly, too (goes well with hand-sewing) and went for a walk, as the weather was beautiful. Forecast promises a drastic drop of temperatures, soon, so we went as long as we could. Mum hates trousers and she's lost so much weight during the recent four or six years that now all her skirts are falling off, therefore we don't go out much when it's cold outside.

I'm also thinking of making orange marmalade. I've found an idiot proof recipe; perhaps I'll give it a try for Christmas. And perhaps grapefruit jam, too...

The sewing kits are such a clever idea.
My mum wanted to go for a walk yesterday, but it was too windy for her.

Yeah, mine doesn't like when it's windy, either.

I have the opposite problem to you. I cannot sew and watch TV at the same time, because I need to be able to read the subtitles on my Chinese drama's.

I think I´d perforate my fingers nonstop when watching TV while sewing!

I think it depends on what and how you're watching. When I'm watching German cop shows, I usually go by ear and hardly ever glimpse at the screen.

That's why I can't watch DVDs while sewing. My understanding of spoken English is so shaky I need to put on the English subtitles whenever I watch them.

I am glad you got your Mum out for a walk before it gets too cold for her.

And I admire anyone who actually makes marmalade!

With Dr. Oetker's Jam Fix it's actually a very easy task.

Mini sewing kits are so handy. I have a small one that was my mothers, nothing fancy, but I use it every so often for emergency.

I like to make things for the fair that are practical as well as pretty. It makes me feel better when the kids spend their money at my stall.
