My finger (where the "deadly" paper cut happened) is still tender, so Velcro work got further postponed. But I've been very crafty nonetheless.

First, I've finished all the new felt baubles that I had started two or so days ago. These are the medium-sized ones but they enabled me to use up some felt scraps, so I'm well content. And they don't look too bad if I say so myself:

Then I started folding the little surprise boxes - only one end, of course, since they'll have to be filled before I can fix them for good, but small progress is progress, too.

Then I dug out my tinfoil scraps (saved from chocolate bars, Ferrero Rocher bonbons and the likes) and made new garlands for Christmas trees. I also used the beads from a broken necklace Mum no longer intends to wear and some metal beads I bought cheaply at Tedi:

They are nothing spectacular but look nice and I'll sell them for little money, so I hope they'll all be bought.

We still had leftovers, so all I had to cook was Tütensuppe, which was a relief. Crafting took me the better part of the day, but I wanted to put my time to good use, seeing that I actually had a decent amount of it. Tomorrow will be a different story again.

You're definitely keeping busy with all the crafting!

I have to! These things take time — lots of it — and the charity fair usually is in the first week of December!

Love the garlands. I think I need more chocolate... Oh, wait! I have to lose weight not gain more!

That's the problem with chocolate: it's good for the soul but bad for the girlish figure. *g*

I learned making these garlands back in Transylvania at the age of... 6 or 8, I think, from our landlady. Before everything got packed in plastic, the very special Christmas candy that you can only get at this time of the year, was packed first in Seidenpapier and over that in differently coloured tinfoil. We used the Seidenpapier for the inside of the balls and the tinfoil on the outside, making the beads.

I love those garlands! They're as beautiful as the antique strand my grandmother gifted me before she died! How long are they?

How much do you charge?
Do a lot of people still do this? We thread popcorn and cranberries. after Christmas when the tree goes back outside the birds have a feast!

No, this technique isn't widely known in Hungary proper. I learned it as a child in Transylvania.
And I charge for them the rough equivalent of five to ten Eurocents. These are for the kids with little pocket money.

I don't want a single kid leaving the fair without being able to buy themselves at least a tiny little thing. We were desperately poor when I was growing up, so I know what it is like to watch others that could afford all sorts of things I could not.

Those look good for just being scraps of things you've found, for the most part.

Great idea with the foil garlands. I made a cushion cover for my winter décor. I will now have two dark green velvet cushions to dress my settee at Christmas.

Those garlands are lovely. And very clever use of materials for recycling!
