... roughly in that order. Well, crafting happened in two units, before and after social life, but still...

Anyway, my friend Evie promised a short visit for today, and naturally, I had to make cheesy scones in the morning; the sort that's best when freshly made. Not that it would have been such a sacrifice; we love the things, too, and I'd have made them for my pre-birthday "celebration" in any case.

Said celebration consisted of eating some of the yummy mocha cake I had made yesterday. But the cake was great, so that's enough for me.

Evie came a little after noon, and the three of us had a nice conversation, scones and a display of my crafty items for the Christmas fair. She couldn't stay long, though, as her eldest was about to visit in the afternoon with family (including the two grandsons - she's a fairly young grandmother), but we made the best of it. We'll see each other tomorrow again, as I'm going to school where our art teacher is having a craft workshop for interested kids, and I'll take my stuff for the surprise gift boxes to make them there. I don't have a big enough table for such a massive undertaking, and perhaps some kids can be persuaded to help. Who knows. Evie promised to drop by for a short time, too.

Afterwards, I've continued my mini sewing kit project. All 12 lashes are seamed and equipped with decorative buttons and even sewn on to their final places, which brings the whole project one step further. Yay! I've also selected a bunch of buttons; each kit will have 3 of them, sewn onto a narrow slip of felt, for emergencies. *g* Then there will be the other half of the Velcro work (shudders) and the sewing the whole thing together. I hope to get the project finished next week, but I'm not entirely sure I'll manage. Too many things to do, too little time to do it. *sigh*

You seem to be moving quite fast with those sewing kits, although I suspect it's the velcro sewing that takes up most of the time.

Not this time, as I only use one stitch for each patch since they are self-adhesive. For the same reason, though, they are very hard on the fingers.
