I've made more small items for the Christmas fair - six pieces altogether, while cutting out parts for ten more - before leaving the house, as today was shopping day. Actually, I wanted to buy something for Mum as a Christmas or name day gift, and this week it was reduced in price (Rum-Kokos-Kugel, for the German speakers among us). I had to pay with cash, as Mum compares the bills with the printouts from the bank every month, and if she'd spotted the extra costs it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it? I'll have to find a better hiding place for the 1kg-package; right now it's lying under my chair in a bag. *g*

I also went to Tedi and bought a big package of sewing pins - necessary for the little sewing kids, once they are done. I got them for a fairly reasonable price (usually they're insanely expensive), and I won't use them all, of course. That way I'll have some nice, glass-headed pins for my own use, too.

I've sweet-talked Mum to make potato casserole for lunch (she makes these simple, traditional dishes much better than I), and we had some of the ice cream my friends brought to the party for afters. I can live with such meals!

In the afternoon I finished the little items I had started in the morning. All in all, it was a very effective day, even if a bit tiring.

Look at the recipe below, in my answer to [livejournal.com profile] noadvertising's comment.

The days of potatoes have come upon us, though I´ve never made a casserole! Must have a look at recipes...

It is really simple. You need boiled potatoes and boiled eggs, in any relation you prefer. Slice them, layer them and add creme freche and salt. Bake it in the oven or simply in a pot on the oven. It's even better with sliced sausages (the spicy kind) and/or grated cheese added to the mix.

It is such a simple dish — only potatoes, eggs and creme freche — but it warms you so nicely on cold days.
