In other words: I finally got a haircut, so that I'd look acceptable when my friends come over on Saturday. Unless they get sick, their kiddies get sick, their grandkids get sick... well, I'll breathe again when the ones promised to come are actually here.

On my way to the hairdresser's (and on my way back) I visited some craft shops and at Rayher I bought this. It was a bit price-y for only 4 tiny angels, but my nefarious plan is to use them as templates and make many more little ornaments from my felt rests. I've got enough of those; and chenille wire, too. All I might have to buy are some wooden beads - the paper ones I've got in my stash are either too large or too small. We'll see.

I was roaming the town for four hours altogether, so not much else got done, except stitching on the "icing" on all 6 doughnut-shaped keyrings. That is always the first phase, and I like to use the mass production method when I make similar items. Inspired by that, I bought some actual doughnuts for lunch, after the last of our tomato soup: ones filled with apricot jam. Mum very much approved. We both love apricot jam.

I also bought the last ingredients for tomorrow's baking spree, so I'm prepared. Let's the yummy bakes come! I'll bake a chocolate traybake with sour cherries, a batch of so-called Fanta slices (chocolate sponge with quarkkcreme and Fanta jelly), layered spinach crepes cut in small cubes and cheesy scones. If the guests fail to shop up, at least we'll have something to eat for next week.

I'm not keen on the colours of the kit. You can hardly see the white bodies against the white wings. I'm sure your angels will look much better.

The layered spinach crepes and the cheesy scones sound delicious, so do the sweets, but I overindulged on sugar cookies today, so can't think about anything sweet at the moment, lol. Hope your guests come 100%.

That never happens, as most of them have small children or grandchildren that can get ill without warning. But the majority could come and we had fun.
